Buffalo Psychiatric Center (BPC), a NYS Office of Mental Health Facility, is recruiting a board certified/eligible psychiatrist. Our Inpatient Services at Buffalo Psychiatric Center, located at 400 Forest Avenue, Buffalo, NY provides intermediate term level of care to an inpatient population. We have a census of 149 and serve patients on six units. Each unit has a multidisciplinary team that provides care, treatment, rehabilitation, and support to restore functioning.
Psychiatrists perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments, mental status examinations, formulate appropriate diagnoses, collaborate with the treatment team, formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications, educate patients about side effects, and monitor patient response to prescribed medications. Provide court testimony when necessary. Document initial psychiatric evaluations, subsequent progress notes, and significant data such as incident reports, significant event reports, and admission and discharge summaries on a timely basis. Adhere to supervisorymeetingsand evaluations, assimilate feedback, and strive for performance improvement and professional development. Be an active member of Medical Staff organization, participate in hospital committees that provide oversite over clinical policies and improvement activities, and perform other duties as determined by supervisory staff, and the Clinical Director.

Excellent compensation:
•PSYCHIATRIST 2: Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State and board certification in general psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Base annual salary $269,333*
•PSYCHIATRIST 1: Possession of a license to practice medicine in New York State and completion of an accredited training program in general psychiatry acceptable by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology for entrance into its examination. Base annual salary $257,847*
•Base salaries are for a 40-hour workweek. *Income can be augmented by doing voluntary overnight/weekend/holiday coverage.
