Assistant Professor, Tenure Track: Television and Film Arts   Brief Job Description   The Television and Film Arts (TFA) program at SUNY Buffalo State University invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track position. This appointment involves teaching and academic service at the undergraduate level while maintaining an active and ongoing record of creative achievement and/or scholarly research. We seek an accomplished and passionate director of narrative fiction for the screen who demonstrates a commitment to storytelling and a comprehensive understanding of the artistic and technical aspects of TV, film, and streaming media.   Duties include:   TEACHING • Teach undergraduate courses in narrative filmmaking—including basic, intermediate, and advanced pre-production, production, and post-production • Mentor and advise students on creative projects, internships, career development, and academic progress SCHOLARSHIP • Maintain a strong and ongoing record of creative work and/or scholarship in narrative filmmaking SERVICE • Assist in attracting and retaining talented students—including attending open houses, university admissions events, TFA Admissions, and film festivals • Serve on departmental, school, and/or university committees   Required Qualifications • MFA in film production or a closely related field • Proficiency in film editing software, cinematography, and sound design tools • Demonstrated experience as a director of narrative fiction for TV, film, and/or streaming media • Comprehensive knowledge of pre-production, production, and post-production processes and industry practices • Strong understanding of contemporary cinematic storytelling techniques and film aesthetics • Evidence of successful teaching at the undergraduate level and/or equivalent professional training experience ?
