Job Description: Events, Trade, and Special Advertising Projects Coordinator
We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Coordinator to join our team and contribute to our trade, events, and special advertising projects. As a Coordinator specializing in these areas, you will play a crucial role in covering industry-specific events, conducting interviews, producing compelling content, and working on special advertising initiatives. Your work will be instrumental in keeping our audience informed, engaged, and connected.
Responsibilities:
1. Event Coverage: Attend and report on trade agreements, conferences, and community events. Conduct interviews with key stakeholders, exhibitors, and attendees to gather insights, quotes, and news relevant to our target audience. Produce well-researched, accurate, and engaging event coverage articles, features, and summaries.
2. Trade: Oversee all trade relationships between our properties and our partners. While the majority of trade relationships will be negotiated by other parties within the organization, it will be the responsibility of the Events Coordinator to ensure that all deliverables within the trade agreement are provided and received, in addition to ensuring that in the cases of event tickets - that all tickets are distributed and used.
3. Special Advertising Projects: Collaborate with the advertising and marketing teams to develop and execute special projects that integrate journalism and advertising. Create sponsored content, advertorials, and branded storytelling pieces that align with our editorial standards and provide value to our audience.
4. Content Creation: Generate high-quality written content, including articles, blog posts, features, and interviews. Ensure accuracy, adherence to principles, and engaging storytelling techniques. Work closely with editors and other team members to ensure content meets editorial guidelines and publication standards.
5. Research and Source Development: Conduct thorough research to gather information, data, and expert opinions for articles and projects. Cultivate a network of industry contacts and sources to facilitate timely and accurate information gathering.
6. Digital Engagement: Utilize various digital platforms, including social media, to promote and disseminate content, engage with the audience, and build a strong online presence for our brand. Stay informed about digital media trends, SEO best practices, and audience engagement strategies.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience in journalism, with a focus on events coverage, or special projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a strong command of grammar, style, and storytelling techniques
- Strong research and interviewing skills, with the ability to gather information from diverse sources
