The St. Louis Post-Dispatch/ is seeking a temporary photographer/videographer.

The ideal candidate will be efficient in shooting stills for daily assignments and must be comfortable producing and editing short video for our website in a timely manner to meet deadlines.

Being a self-starter when it comes to generating photo/video ideas and content is a must. This position could range from 3 to 12 months.

The ideal candidate must possess the following:
  • Four-year college degree and/or at least 2 years of video/photo-journalism experience for a daily newspaper or other journalism based company
  • Portfolio demonstrating a range of video and still work
  • Great photo/video storytelling, editing and writing skills
  • Highest journalism ethics
  • Excellent communication, written and verbal skills
  • Strong news judgment
  • Proficiency in managing social media to promote work
  • Ability to carry and manage necessary gear to produce daily work in various terrains
  • Willingness to work all shifts
  • Some assignments require walking, carrying camera and video gear while working in extreme weather conditions while getting from one location to another to meet daily and breaking news deadlines.

Licensed drone pilot

Familiar with Blox/TCMS content management system

Comfortable with location and studio lighting


Adobe Premiere

Photo Mechanic


Knowledge of other social media video tools
