Overview of Role:
The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources/Director of Human Resources at Shenendehowa School District will serve as a member of the Superintendent’s Executive Cabinet and District Leadership Support Team (DLST). Said individual shall work directly with the Superintendent, members of the DLST, school and department leaders to support the effective and efficient recruitment, hiring and retention of highly effective employees, consistent with the Profile of a Shen Employee. The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources/Director for Human Resources shall proactively communicate with the Superintendent and members of the District Leadership Support Team (DLST) to ensure applicable practices, protocols, and contractual obligations are exercised with fidelity. Said individual shall provide leadership and work in concert with legal counsel to assure that applicable laws, rules, regulations and personnel related contractual stipulations are followed. The Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources/Director for Human Resources serves as an integral point person district-wide in the areas of recruitment and selection, retention, classification and compensation, staffing, application processing, performance evaluation, credentialing, new employee orientation, investigation, employee discipline, and contract administration. ● Candidates may possess NYS School District Administrator (SDA) or School District Leader (SDL) certification, or in lieu of certification (s)
● Candidates may be eligible for a Civil Service provisional appointment, with pending completion of the required Saratoga County Civil Service Director of Human Resources examination.
● A minimum of five years experience as an administrator, with leadership experience in human
resources or personnel management is required.
