Lecturer in Criminal Justice
The Department of Sociocultural and Justice Sciences is accepting applications for a temporary, full-time Lecturer in Criminal Justice for the 2025-2026 academic year, starting in August 2025 semester. Fredonia is seeking applicants who are able to teach across the criminal justice curriculum including policing and corrections. Aside from these two core areas, the successful candidate will be expected to teach introductory and elective courses in the criminal justice curriculum and should be willing to support department-wide activities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Department Chair, the successful candidate will
● Teach four classes each semester (4/4 load)
● Advise students
● Participate in Department meetings and activities such as assessment, etc.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
● Master’s degree in criminal justice, criminology, or related field
● Experience teaching
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
● Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology or Related Field. (J.D. degree is not considered equivalent)
● Professional criminal justice experience
● Experience advising students
● Experience with instructional technology
● Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary context
● Demonstrated capacity to multitask and meet goals and deadlines
