Teaching Position Vacancy for the 2023-24 School Year

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities. You will work closely with students, parents, and other educators to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that meet the unique needs of each student.

Secondary Special Education Teacher Certification Required and with Math Certification Preferred

Responsibilities:

- Develop and implement IEPs for students with disabilities

- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in various subject areas

- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the individual needs of each student

- Collaborate with general education teachers and other professionals to ensure the inclusion and integration of students with disabilities in the general education curriculum

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS-CERTIFIED & UNCERTIFIED, TEACHER’S AIDES AND TEACHING ASSISTANTS 

Please submit the substitute teacher application. Certified teachers must submit a copy of the valid teaching certificate. If you are interested in substituting as a teaching assistant and/or teacher's aide, please check the area on the application.

The substitute teacher's aide, bus driver, cleaner, bus monitor, and cafeteria positions require a civil service application to be filled out but there is no exam required. These positions require a non-teaching application as well.

SUBSTITUTE CLEANER

Westfield Central School is accepting applications for a Cleaner I and substitute cleaner in the buildings and grounds department. It is preferred but not necessary applicant have working knowledge of building cleaning methods, procedures and equipment; ability to understand and follow simple oral and written directions; willingness to perform routine cleaning and other manual asks; applicant must be physically capable for the demands of the job. Please fill out a civil service application and a non-teaching application. NYS Education Finger Print Clearance is required.

SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVER

SUBSTITUTE FOOD SERVICE HELPERS ARE NEEDED

Westfield Central School is accepting applications for substitute food service helpers.  Applicants must minimally be eighteen years old and a high school graduate or its equivalency and must be physically capable for the demands of the job.   In addition, must have NYS Education Fingerprint Clearance. 

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of food

  • Assist in the use of kitchen equipment used in the preparation of food

  • Assist food handling, including proper storage of food

  • Cleans all aspects of the kitchen, etc. (equipment, serving area, washes dishes, pots, pans, tableware, etc.)

  • Maintains and cleans food preparation and storage areas

  • Clean and sanitize tables in dining room

  • Performs related duties as required
